The first Amanresort in Africa, Amanjena sits at the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Meaning ‘Peaceful Paradise’, Amanjena is an impeccable resort on the edge of Marrakech with the Atlas Mountains as its backdrop.

A true oasis, this sultan palace-style resort boasts charming rose-pink walls that are inspired by the ‘Red City’ of Marrakech and Berber mountain villages. Discreetly sumptuous, it impresses with palatial spaces, marble fountains, colonnaded walkways, subtly illuminated arches and glazed zellij tiles.

Moroccan-style pavilions fan out from the turquoise central water pool, and are splendidly decorated with a wood-burning fireplace, cherry wood furniture, Berber carpets, an Ouarzazate green marble-finished bathroom and a striking stuc Venetian dome. Some pavilions have a private terrace and pool.
For further privacy, book one of the two delightful two-storey ‘townhouse’ Maisons, or treat yourself to the majestic Al-Hamra Maison.

The 18 hole Amelkis Championship Golf Course is right next door, with another course minutes away. Alternatively, go on excursions to the Medina, souk and other exciting attractions. The resort’s helicopter flies guests to the desert or mountains, while the shimmering, green-tiled swimming pool, tennis courts, library and restaurants offer relaxation within the resort.

For the ultimate in Moroccon pampering, visit the Amanjena Health and Beauty Centre which offers luxury Hammams, among other spa treatments.
